Guidance, Tutoring, and Employment
- The S.O.S.T.A. Help Desk - The University’s Ongoing Guidance and Tutoring Service—is a peer-led guidance service designed to help you explore UPO with the help of other students.
- P.I.M. Desk - Freshman Information Desk: assistance in navigating the process of choosing a degree program.
- Working at UPO - Part-time student positions in university offices and through the Universal Civil Service program.
- Internships and Job Placement - Support for entering the workforce through Career Days, seminars, resume counseling, and the INFOJOB newsletter.
IT, Language, and Library Services
- IT Services - UPO email account, Google Apps for Education suite (unlimited storage), free access to Office 365, Wi-Fi networks, Stata 18 SE statistical software, and ICDL certifications.
- C.L.U.P.O. - The UPO Language Center administers the English Placement Test (required for freshmen) and organizes free Italian language courses for international students.
- Libraries - Open access, physical and digital lending (e-books via the Media Library Online or the Zanichelli platform), and a pickup service via lockers.
Support, Inclusion, and Well-being
- CUG and the Confidential Counsellor - Bodies dedicated to ensuring a fair environment free from discrimination, harassment, and bullying.
- Services for students in vulnerable situations (disabilities, specific learning disabilities, special educational needs) - Personalized support, accommodative measures, and dedicated training programs.
- Alias Career - Creation of a temporary identity for students undergoing gender transition.
- Counseling - Support service available by appointment to address crisis situations.
Sports, Experiences, and Creativity
- Artistic Activities and Travel - Join the UPO choir and orchestra (with CFU credit) every Monday at DISIT (Alessandria). Get involved with the TILLIT theater project and educational trips.
- C.U.S.P.O. - The University Sports Center of Eastern Piedmont organizes tournaments and partners with local gyms and sports clubs.
- Dual Career Program - Do you compete in sports at a competitive level? Learn about the Dual Career Program, designed to help you balance your university studies with high-level athletic commitments (competitive sports at the Olympic, World, European, or national levels in Olympic and/or Paralympic disciplines, as well as in Associated Sports Disciplines recognized by the Italian National Olympic Committee).
Residential Accommodation
The Organisation for the Right to Higher Education, the Department and the University can help you study or find accommodation.
In Vercelli, for example, there are two university halls of residence:
• “Dal Pozzo” university residence – Via Dal Pozzo 10. It occupies part of the historic building that houses the rectorate, in the heart of the city. Equipped with all services, it has a total of 51 beds, in single and twin rooms.
• “Quintino Sella” university residence – Via Quintino Sella, 5. Recently renovated, it is located in the central area, near the universities. Equipped with all services, it has a total of 48 beds, distributed in single and twin rooms.
